Panasonic is pleased to announce that the Panasonic LUMIX DMC-G2, the world’s first interchangeable lens system camera with touch-control shooting, has been honored by EISA and named European Multimedia Camera 2010-2011. One of five Panasonic products that made it onto EISA’s list of excellent products, the EISA jury comments: “One of the most exciting features of the Panasonic Lumix DMC-G2 is its vari-angle 3-inch (3:2) touch-screen monitor, from which one can both take control of shooting settings and activate the shutter by touching the subject on-screen. The camera’s excellent electronic viewfinder makes it easy and comfortable to frame and focus pictures even in strong light. The contrast-detection autofocus system is impressively fast, and picture quality is good in both still and video (AVCHD Lite) modes.”
Panasonic has been awarded a total of five EISA Awards this year, the highest number of awards it has ever received in a single year. In addition to the European Multimedia Camera 2010-2011, the other EISA Awards that were presented to Panasonic were the European 3D-PLASMA TV 2010-2011 for the Panasonic VIERA TX-P50VT20, the European Camcorder 2010-2011 for the Panasonic HDC-TM700, the European HT Soundbar 2010-2011 for the Panasonic SC-HTB500 and the European Travel Compact Camera 2010-2011 Award that went to the Panasonic LUMIX DMC-TZ10. The five EISA Awards follow up on the four awards which Panasonic won last year.
“We are very proud to take home a total of five prestigious EISA Awards this year, the highest number that Panasonic has ever won in a single year. This clearly demonstrates how our commitment to creating the highest quality products is paying off and we will continue our efforts to raise the bar even higher next year,” said Laurent Abadie, Chairman and CEO of Panasonic Europe Ltd.
Visitors to the IFA 2010 Consumer Electronics Exhibition in Berlin from 3 – 8 September 2010 (Hall 5.2 a/b, Booth 101) will have the chance to take a closer look at all of the award-winning new products. The EISA Awards will be officially presented during the official EISA Awards Ceremony on September 3 at the Adlon Kempinski Hotel in Berlin. Established in 1982, the European Imaging Sound Association (EISA) is a multimedia association that tests consumer electronic products. Its membership includes 50 audio, mobile, video and photo magazines from 19 European countries.
