Fence in the Water
Phil Surbey's comments:
Well done James a great shot that has an air of simplicity which belies a keen eye for a great composition. The tilted angle of the camera lining up along the top edge of the fence really leads your eye through the shot. Also the blue sky leading down to the yellow stony riverbed further adds to you being this months winner
mrt's comments:
I was taken by the shape of the reflections on one side of the fence and the normal water textures on the other. I've saturated the colours a little more to add impact.

Really good! What camera settings did you use to take this picture?

Christopher, sorry for delay in response to your encouraging comment. I used jpeg setting on fine, 1/50s@7.1 using ISO400 and the 14mm prime in aperture priority mode. I then gave the shot a little more(not much) saturation via Picasa editing programme (free online programme) to bring out the colours. (Have yet to embark on Lightroom!)
