Pancake lens shot from the summit of Bla Bheinn 928m. The northern end of the Black Cuillin ridge is shrouded under cloud. Below is remote Loch an Athain and further-on lies Glen Sligachan. I recommend ‘View in new window’ as it needs to be seen large to appreciate the detail in the lakes and rivers through the valley. Spectacular stuff Gordon with the light rays the icing on the cake.

Cheers Roy. This was high contrast testing the G1 sensor to its limit. I did manage to pull back some detail from shadows using the raw files – jpegs taken at the same time are poor by comparison. What the photo doesn’t show is how cold my hands were … but … what a view it was!
