Saltburn revisted
Taken in April 2009 when walking from Saltburn south along the sea-cliffs. The G1 captured a lot of detail in this Jpeg. 1/1300 sec F8 ISO400 using the 45-200mm lens at 189mm. Playtime on the beach with the industrial landscape of Teeside as a back-drop.

This one brings back a few childhood holiday memories Gordon
We used to stay with Dad’s family at Skinningrove just down the coast – a trip to Saltburn on one of Kelly’s buses was a treat!

Hi John, I’ve walked this coast many times usually when doing the Cleveland Way – lost count now. Years ago you used to go under a tunnel at Skinningrove but that’s been demolished now. The river used to be red with iron oxide from the steel works – no longer. Still an interesting place with it’s few fishing boats and pigeon “coits”. Lots of industrial history all along the coast – highly recommended anytime, Gordon

Shame about the tunnel (not to mention the British Steel Industry
). I guess Kelly’s have long been replaced too. The speed that they took the corners on the cliff side roads left something of a lasting impression (of terror) in my mind. John
