145 exposures ? are they timed every so often or do you just use burst mode ? it’s like a vortex leading to a black hole. Great image.

Thanks Ray & Roy, I’m learning a little more each time I get the chance to try one of these, which isn’t often. Using burst, manual focus & exposure, F4@ISO400. I took 164 No. 30sec exposures with Long Shutter NR switched on. So it was well after midnight when my battery flashed red and I had to pack-in. The first 19 frames were discarded as I had “painted” too much light on the Minster tower with my head-torch. Next time I’m going to try a wider angle and colour – this is a very good location – not badly affected by light pollution. Just need to get battery to last longer – I have some ideas – thank goodness for good DAB radio signal and Radio 4, otherwise it could get boring.

You have the patience and endurance worthy of Shackleton! Today I saw a photo in the local paper of two swans “necking” in courtship – the amateur photographer concerned said he had waited 5 hours for the shot! I’m not a very patient person!
