This is my grand daughter and I wanted to capture her impish mood that evening. It seemed too dark to ever get anything worth keeping. But I decided to keep the ISO at 100 to get the best quality, even though Christina never holds still. Also, I didn't want to wash out the mood of the moment or the beautiful play of light that I was seeing. So I set the aperture to 1.7, even though it would narrow the depth of field. Using a monopod helped reduce the movement, too. And with the help of Silkypix, I lightened the exposure to +1.10. It even tolerated a bit of sharpening. That's why this is my favourite, because it caught her expression...and really did come out much better than I thought it would. It also reminds me of some of Renoir's paintings somehow. I also like the composition with the people in the table behind.

After the clinically clean pictures I am used to looking at, this is a refreshing change. Sharpness is only of importance where it helps the picture. Here mood is everything.

A wonderful capture, good luck with it.
