My name is Peter norman and I live in Guernsey, Channel Islands. I took this shot on the 24/6/2010 at 21.16. Guernsey has some of the best sunsets I've ever seen. On this day I knew it was going to be a good sunset so I headed off down to the west coast. I drove along it look for a good spot. I saw two lads going to the beach with their wave board. So I pulled up and took position on the beach. I had just bought the G2 and had not used it for sunsets as yet. As for this shot. I set it on sunset mode and burst mode. I got into position and as he ran I clicked away. This was the best of the shots. I feel this shot sums up summer in the best way. Calm water, boats, someone enjoying the warmth of the sun and calmness of the day, our love for the beach and water and that the day and summer is not over till the sun sets.

I love this shot,Peter,and it sums up ‘Summer’ as it should be!
I was supposed to land on Guernsey off a cruise ship last Monday,but the seas were too rough for the ship’s tenders so our captain aborted the attempt.
This would have been my first-ever visit to the island and I was really looking forward to it!
However,your photo has partly made up for the disappointment!
I will return!
