This is the outdoor pool at the hotel in Chamonix that my wife and I have visited for years. The sight of her hands moving through the water in the heat of the day captures, for me, the feeling of summer.

I do like the concept of this pic Don – and looking at it again I’m not at all sure how you managed to achieve that angle!

Hi, John. Thanks for your comments. This is actually one of a large number of shots I took of my wife swimming up and down the pool. Unfortunately, by its very nature, it’s difficult to get the hands in any real focus because they are beneath the water. Beth was very near the edge, and I had to hold the camera over her as she swam. I was concentrating so hard that, had something been in the way as I tracked her, there would have been a very wet photographer and a G1 in a very sorry state!
