Exposed bolts danger !

View larger version | View in new window

One of the many unnecessary health and safety signs that litter our towns and beaches (and spoil the views). This one must be warning about the 3 inches of exposed fixing bolts that could be lethal if you were to fall and hit your head on one ! G1 & 14-45mm.

I agree Andrew – eyesore and waste of (probably) public money! Grumble, chunner, etc. We have expensive-looking solar-powered signs (in the summer) over the moors that flash “slow-down” with a picture of a sheep – utterly pointless! Everyone knows there are sheep. Doesn’t matter how slow you go either – they still flash! Ruins the landscape! In winter (to save frost damage) they take them away .. but the sheep are still there. I’m with you on this one – TOO MANY SIGNS! Signed, Grumpy old man
PS. What if it were dark? You might walk into it and hurt yourself! I think it needs another (illuminated) warning sign? Not.
PPS. What’s it actually for? or don’t you know?
PPPS. If they cut the bolts-off they wouldn’t be able to re-use them to fix another sign … I could go-on …

Our esteemed council put some small rocks on the beach at various points along about 3 miles of seafront, obviously adults sit on them and children stand on them, thus the eyesore signs with the dangerous bolts sticking up.
Two of my pictures in the gallery show a very peaceful, and shallow river/stream that I called “evening river”, would you believe there are signs saying “danger of drowning” !
I’m just waiting for the signs saying “danger of getting wet when it rains”.
